Afternoon Everyone! Well feeling rather weiry today, I did not get to sleep until 2am this morning, after reading the Hero Arts Blog and finding out that I was the Fresh Face Winner for Feburary Challenge, I was so excited that I just could not settle to sleep.

I just want to take this opportunity to firstly, thank Hero Arts for bestowing this fantastic award on me, I could not be more honoured.

I also wish to congratulate the other winners of this challenge, you are incredibly talented ladies and I am so pleased that I have been chosen to be along such gifted ladies, enjoy your winnings.

Thank you also goes to everyone that has taken the time to pass through my blog and leave such wonderful comments, but also to the ladies on the Flickr group that leave beautiful, encouraging comments over there, you bring a smile to my face everyday. Thank you everyone from the bottom of my heart.

Now, onto today’s card, being so tired today I decided to just play around and see what came together, so as usual reached for my distress inks and this is what I came up with.

I started with white card stock for card, then took my Quickutz, Diamonds and Dots embossing folder and put the front of the card in folder and ran it through the Cuttlebug. I took another piece of white card stock and started to blend some Ranger, Distress Inks, Dried Marigold, Peeled Paint, Scattered Straw and Broken China over the piece of white card stock, I then dipped my paint brush in some water and flicked over the surface of the inked card stock, which hence made the ink run, I then heat embossed to dry the card stock, I blended the edges with some Ranger, Distress Ink, Brushed Corduroy. I took my Hero Arts, Everyday Sayings and stamped a sentiment onto the card stock also stamping butterflies from the Hero Arts, Birds and Butterflies stamp set 3 times onto the card stock, I took my black pen and added some dots that connected from the butterflies to the sentiment. I decided to spritz the card stock with some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist, Pearl and heat set, Lastly, I added some pearls in various places over the inked card stock, added some dimesionals and placed onto the card.

Here is another view of card, I tried to get a photo showing the glimmer mist.

A card that uses some great techniques and fun colours.

Enjoy today’s card, I hope that you find some inspiration.

Have a happy Friday everyone, think of me tomorrow at work, I hope to catch you all tomorrow with another card.

Bye for Now!

Hi Everyone! Wow nearly the end of the week again, where does it go and we are nearly at Easter already, time is just flying.

Well I have spent this morning making a card that I have fallen in love with, I was super happy with how this turned out.

I started with white card stock for my card and placed it in my Cuttlebug, Jamara Embossing Folder, ran it through my Cuttlebug to emboss the front of the card, set aside and took some more white card stock and stamped the new Hero Arts, Floral Scallop stamp twice onto my card stock, I then coloured it with my Copics (please see photo below for colours used). Once coloured I distress over the top using my Ranger, Distress Ink, Antique Linen, adding extra to the sides of image, I glued 2 pieces of pink card stock strips to each of the sides of the stamped image (inspiration for strips is from the lovely Jennifer McGuire) I then adhered the image to my card. I cut a small strip of white card stock and blended Ranger, Distress Ink, Antique Linen over the top and stamped a sentiment from the Papertrey Ink, Everyday Button Bits stamp set onto strip and adhered it to the image. Lastly, I added some Ranger, Liquid Pearls, White Opal to the centres of the flowers.

A very pretty card that I really enjoyed making. I hope that today’s card gives you inspiration.

Enjoy your day!

I will catch you all tomorrow.

Morning Everyone! Yes I know early one today, I actually have not posted for awhile in the morning so it is a bit unusual for me……..LOL. I made some cards last night even though I was very tired, I think I must have got a second wind and well away I went…LOL.

I started with an idea that was in my head and the end result I made a set of cards. I started with kraft card stock and blended around the edges with Colorbox Ink, Frost White and set aside to dry. I then grabbed 3 pieces of white card stock all similar in size and stamped the bamboo from the Hero Arts, Chinese Dolls set in Versamark Ink and clear embossed each one. I got my Ranger, Distress Ink, Broken China, Shabby Shutters and Worn Lipstick and blended a single colour on each of the embossed card stock, producing what I thought looked like bright colourful Spring colours, I distressed the edges on each of the images and blended again until I was satisfied with the end result, I also stamped a little dragonfly from the Hero Arts, Good Fortune set in 3 places on the blended card stock to add another effect, I set these aside to dry. At the bottom of each card I stamped a sentiment from Hero Arts, Everyday Sayings and Thank You Sayings sets. Lastly, I added some rhinestones above the senttiments and attatched the stamped and blended card stocks to each card with some dimensionals.

Here is a photo of each individual card.

A small but lovely set for someone to have as a gift.

I hope that you enjoyed looking at these cards today and that some inspiration has come your way, and although we are in Autumn I do look forward to Spring and having these colours to look at makes me think of that.

Enjoy your day today.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by and have a look.

Hi Everyone! How is everyone’s Tuesday going? Well I had a very early start this morning, so have not had a chance to make a card today and am feeling rather tired today, so sorry about that, but I do have a card a made quite awhile back to share with you.

I started with white card stock for card, then took another piece of white card stock and stamped Hero Arts, Designer Woodgrain stamp with some Versamark Ink and clear embossed it. I took my Ranger, Distress Inks, Scattered Straw, Dried Marigold and Spiced Marmalade and blended over the top of the embossed card stock until happy with the end result, I corner rounded the edges and set aside. I used my Silhouette Machine and cut 2 die cuts out in brown card stock, I added dimensionals under the birthday die cut and placed it onto the embossed card stock, I then ran the other die cut through the Xyron 250, removable adhesive machine and glued it also onto the embossed card stock. Lastly, I added dimensionals under the card stock and attatched to the main card.

Quite an effective card and quick and easy to do using the Silhouette Machine, I think a must have tool in anyones craft room.

Enjoy today’s card.

Hopefully catch you all tomorrow.

  • A perfect male card! I love how you worked on the color of the bg! And those cut outs look great on 3-D pop-dots!ReplyCancel

  • What a perfect card for a male….love this!ReplyCancel

  • Fantastic card! Love how the woodgrain looks behind the raised letters!ReplyCancel

Afternoon everyone, I do hope that your Monday was a good one, I had a short shift at work today which was good. Still playing nurse maid to my partner Darryl, who hurt his back over the weekend, he had today off and it looks like he will be off work tomorrow, play it by ear I suppose.

Enough blabber from me, onto today’s card.

I brought Sassafras Lass Blossoms awhile back and never really knew what to do with them, so hence they just sat in my stash waiting to be used and used I did last night.

I started with white card stock for the card, then stamped Papertrey Ink, Everyday Button Bits, Flower Pot that was in this stamp set with some Colorbox Ink, Chestnut Roan 4 times across the card, then with my Sassfrass Lass Blossoms, Spring Sprout and Homegrown, I added 4 to the tops of the stamped image, I stamped a sentiment from the Hero Arts, Everyday Sayings set at the bottom of the card, along with adding some rhinestones either end of the sentiment and I stamped butterflies from the Hero Arts, Good Fortune stamp set around the flowers. Lastly, I added a border of black dots around the edge of the card to frame it.

Very, very easy card to make and fun.

I hope you enjoy today’s card.

Will be back tomorrow with another card, hope to catch you all then. Have a great night!

Thanks for stopping by!

  • This is so cute, Joy! Just love those flower pots!! Can’t wait to see similar ones on my deck!ReplyCancel

Afternoon All! Are you all enjoying what is left of your weekend? I have enjoyed the weekend, only wished it didn’t end so quickly….LOL.

Well today’s card I wanted something just a little different from the usual blending affair, so I made a little card perfect for a little girls birthday.

I started with kraft card stock for card folded in half and set aside. I stamped an elephant 3 times onto some white card stock out of the Hero Arts, Happy Day Animals stamp set in Tuxedo Memento black ink, I took my Copics and coloured the images in until I was happy with the end result (see photo below for Copics used). I cut all 3 images out and set aside. I then took a piece of pink card stock and stamped Hero Arts, Raindrop background stamp with Versamark Ink and cut a thin strip. On the card I stamped a sentiment from the same Happy Day Animals set 3 times across the bottom half of the card, I then used a white gel pen and added some dots around the edge of the card to give it a frame, glued the pink strip onto the card, added some pearls between the sentiments and lastly, I added the elephants using some dimensionals.

Here is the photo of Copics.

A sweet card that I think any little girl would love.

I hope you like today’s card.

Have a nice rest of the weekend and I will catch you all tomorrow.

Take care.
