Hi All! Just wanted to keep you updated a little, just to let you know that I am doing very minimal with my new computer as I am still watiting for virus protection, so I don’t want to risk it too much by being on the net blogging etc.

Thanks for understanding and thank you for all your wonderful comments, they are so appreciated.

Hugs to you all.

I will be back soon.

Hi Everyone! Short post tonight, just to let you know that if I am MIA for a couple of days then you will know why, I had to buy a new computer today, whilst I was on my little shopping expedition, I still have my old one but at present will only be able to do minimal things, so you may see me in patches. I need to do a few adjustments to the new computer before I am back on deck again, so keep checking in to see.

I do have a card to share, and will hopefully share this with you tomorrow, along with the little scrapbook haul that I got today, so stay tuned. I need to load a couple of applications onto the new computer to be able to complete my blog posts properly.

In the mean time here are a few bits and pieces for you to feast you eyes on:

Everyone go check out Libby’s new blog look, fabulous look.

Take a look at Dawn’s Blog, so many pretty cards and very inventive.

Loving Ashley’s beautiful card.

Lastly, I loved this card so much and had to share it, if you have seen this on Flickr you will know what I mean, love this.

Hello Everyone! Again, I need to apologise for my absence, still trying to get over this rotten infection and trying to get my house back into living conditions again, also with just general life, it has just been a little busy this week to be able to sit and create and blog, so I aplogise.

Today I have made a card that uses paper piecing, I wanted to enter this flower card into the Moxie Fab World competition but ran out of time to put it together, so I thought that I would share it with you today. I have to also thank Cath Edvalson for the shout out on her blog for my little tree card that I entered into the Moxie Fab World, Picking Up Pieces competition, and to thank everyone that has left a comment on my blog congratulating me. Lastly, Congratulations to all the winners of the competition, you work was so creative and beautiful.

So onto today’s card, I started with a white card, cut to size and folded in half and set aside, I then cut a pink and cream piece of card stock slightly smaller then the card, I distressed each of the sides of the card stock with my scissors and then took my Ranger, Distress Ink, Antique Linen and blended over the edges of the cream card stock. I then took paper from the My Minds Eye, Quite Contrary Collection and stamped Hero Arts, Big Flowers Pattern, Flower onto 3 different pattern papers from the collection, I also stamped leaves from the same stamp set onto some patterned paper from the same collection, I cut each of the leaves and flowers out, making sure to cut one flower smaller then the other, I added some Glossy Accents to the largest flower, once this was dry I used foam dimensionals to add height between each flower and added a button to the centre of the flower. The flower was assembled and using some Ranger, Distress ink, Victorian Velvet I added some blending to the outer edges of the flower and set aside to dry. I then cut a strip of green card stock to form a stem and used some Ranger, Distress Ink, Forest Moss to change the colour to a deeper green, I also added the same ink to the leaves. I assembled the flower onto the cream card stock using some foam dimensionals and added the stem and leaves also. I added a sentiment to the bottom of the cream card stock using Hero Arts, Thoughtful Messages stamp set, stamped with some Colorbox Ink, Muted Moods, Antique Pewter. I adhered both cream and pink card stocks to the white card and then felt that the card was missing something so I added some stamping to form a background using, Hero Arts, Be Happy, Bee Trail stamping it with some Colorbox Ink, Muted Moods, Dusty Plum and lastly, adding some pearls to finish the card.

Here is another view of the card.

I hope you enjoy today’s card and that you find some inspiration to try out the technique using paper piecing, it really is a lot of fun and gives your card another aspect.

Have a great Thursday and I will hopefully catch you all tomorrow!

Don’t forget that you can ask me anything, just check out my side bar for Formspring and ask away, well within reason……..LOL.

Have fun!

Hello Everyone! Are we enjoying Monday? I went back to work today for the first time after having a week off sick, I must say that I did struggle at the end to keep going, hopefully a good nights sleep tonight may help me tomorrow, fingers crossed anyway.

So I made a card last night, trying to get back into the swing of things again and decided to use one of my new stamps that I got in my little scrapbook haul the other day and make another Mothers Day card.

I started with a bone coloured card stock cut to size and folded in half and ran the front of the card through my Cuttlebug Machine, embossing it with the Cuttlebug, Jamara embossing folder, I then set this aside. I took a piece of white card stock and cut a Spellbinders, Label 8 die out , then took my Ranger, Distress Ink, Antique Linen and blended over the top of the die, making sure to cover the whole die, also adding extra to the sides. Once this had a little time to dry I took the Hero Arts, Old Letter Writing and stamped over the top of the blended die cut with Hero Arts, Soft Sand shadow ink making sure I covered the entire die cut. I set this aside and proceeded to stamp a Hero Arts, Hydrangea onto some white card stock, I then coloured the stamped image in with my Copics, until I was satisfied with the end result (see photo below for Copics used). Once the image was coloured I cut the image out and added some foam dimensionals under the flower, then attatched it to the die cut. I then added a sentiment from Papertrey Ink, Signature Greetings stamp set which was stamped with Colorbox Ink, Muted Moods, Antique Pewter. I adhered the die cut onto the card with some foam dimensionals and lastly, I added some pink pearls to the die cut to finish the card.

Here is more views of the card.

Hi Everyone! Well after a weeks absence from sickness, I ventured into the craft room last night and started to create again, although finding a little hard to find my feet, but I am sure that by then end of the week I will have that mojo back.

So today’s card I broke out my Papertrey Ink stamps again, I started with white card stock for the card, folded in half and set aside. I then cut a piece of Papertrey Ink, Raspberry Fizz card stock slightly smaller then the card front. I stamped a leaf from the Papertrey Ink, Turning a New Leaf with Versamark Ink in different directions on the raspberry fizz card stock, making sure that all the card stock was covered to form a background image. I heat set the Versamark Ink and then with Papertrey Ink, Big & Bold Wishes, I stamped a sentiment and the matching flourish with black ink over the top of the leaf background. Lastly, I added some pink rhinestones to the end of the sentiment to finish the card.

Here is another view of the card.

Also I have a little share for you today, this photo was taken quite a few months ago, one of the very first pieces of furniture that Darryl built me for my craft room. However, some things in this photo have changed a little bit, hence more stamps and more products underneath and a new trimmer. Just thought that I would give you a little sneak peek into what I am hoping to have more photos uploaded for you to have a look at in the next coming weeks, my room just needs a little tweaking and a little cleaning and straightening and I will take some before shots then once I have holidays at the end of September and I paint my room out, I will have the after shots for you.

I hope you like what you see today and that this little inspiration that both myself and Darryl have created, spurs you on for bigger and better things.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend, I am heading back to work tomorrow, so wish me luck in not having a coughing fit whilst I am at work.

Hugs for now!

Hello Everyone! Sorry I have been MIA the last week, I have been incredibly sick with tonsillitis and flu, I am still recovering, but am feeling a lot better, still coughing and spluttering but nothing compared to what I have been like during the week. So my apologies for the absence.

I don’t have a card for you today but I do have some photos of a small scrapbook haul and a new item that entered my craft room about an hour ago.

As you can see from the photo I purchased all of the new Tim Holtz Distress Inks, some Hero Arts stamps, I also purchased some Copic blending card stock, which I am loving. You can purchase all these items through Scrapbook Boutique. Evelyn and Chris are wonderful and very helpful people.

The second photo for today, is something that my partner Darryl has hand built for my room. I have noticed on quite a few blogs lately that everyone is buying the Copic Cubbies, I new that at this stage we are not able to buy them here is Australia so I took a print out from the net to him to see what he could come up with and well, here it is. I love it and a lot of room to put more Copics, as you can see I am still a long way off a good collection of them………LOL.

I am so lucky that I have a very talented partner that can build me all of my furniture to suit my needs in my craft room, he is truly a wonderful guy.

I wanted to also share with you today some bits and pieces that I have found on the net:

Check this out.………Donna what a beautiful take on Jill’s card, loving it.

Also a very big Congratulations to Vanessa for her first Publication……….Check it out……..Oh and Vanessa you do crack me up girl, you made me smile and giggle today, which was what I needed.

How about This for a paper creation. WOW!

That is about all for today, I am hoping that I will be able to get the creative juices flowing tomorrow to be able to bring you a long awaited card.

Stay tuned for tomorrow and thanks everyone for you patience.

Have a great night all!

  • I’m almost ashamed to say I’m totally jealous!! I’ve just added to my distress inks collection and now have 5!! I love them for distressing edges and they blend so well!! And I love the stand your partner has built for you!! It’s fantastic and has plenty of room for your ever growing collection of markers.
I have a three of the Eldon X Cube’s from OfficeWorks for my storage and they have worked great up to now….but as my Copic collection has just reached 200, and OW no longer stocks these cubes….I’m going to need to think about a new method of storing them.
Enjoy playing with your new lovely things. xxReplyCancel
