June Just Add Color!

Morning to you all, well at least it is here in Australia :)

This morning I get to share with you all my process of Just Add Color for June using the Beclaws stamp set..

This was just the cutest set to work with during the release and I know I will gravitate to it throughout the year…I just adore those sweet crabs and yes I know that generally speaking crabs aren’t exactly this red until they are cooked, but well we can make them any colour right?

So to start out I stamped out all the images from the stamp set and starting out with the crabs, I started to add my Copic colouring using R05 as my lightest and working to mark out the shadows, then applying E08 as my darkest colour, this earthy tone gives the red a much deeper shadow, applying R27, then R17 then back to R05, I generally will repeat at least 2-3 times until I am happy with the depth of colour, of course with red, they have a tendency to run, so I am careful to let it dry slightly in between colouring..

I finished the crabs eyes with a little N1 and N3..

Next was the Umbrella, using just 2 tones for this Blue Greens and Yellow…the colours for this were Bg32, Bg34 and BG49 in the aqua tones and with the Yellow, Y06, Y08 and Y19..

The heart and the star in this set were coloured with the same red  and yellow tones…

The seagull, I kept pretty plain, trying to achieve a more white, so in order to do this, I only added N1 and N3 for shadows, giving it the appearance of more white, with his little beak I added YR04..

The last was the ice creams and shell to which I used E41, E42, E44, V04, V15, V17, R20 and R22..

By stamping out several images at once and just sitting to colour, you will end up with quite a few images ready for your next project like I have here, it is not only handy but also very relaxing..

Head on over to the blog to see what everyone else got up to this month for Just Add Color…

Have a fabulous day!
