Masculine Birthday!

Happy Friday!!

Woohoo! So pleased I can say that today, means I have the weekend off to catch up and play in the craft room, what are your plans for the weekend?

Today I wanted to pop in and share a card I created for Darryl’s birthday, we celebrated well and he enjoyed his day so that was great..

I used a lot of older product that was in my stash, from Studio Calico Glittered Stars, to Cosmo Cricket Label Stickers and October Afternoon sticker and Evalicious Flair..all of which sadly you cannot source anymore, but I am sure there would be other ideas and products that could be substituted if you were wishing to make something similar..

I had a lot of fun putting this card together, from using Carta Bella patterned paper which is yet another one that is no longer made, taking a strip of the pattern paper and apply Broken China and Walnut Distress Oxide over the top and adding layers to create a great look, adhering this to a trimmed piece of white card stock slightly smaller then a card base..

Adding my stamped image of a compass from the Tim Holtz stamp set Classic #1 and adding modeling paste, applying a thin layer over the Stars Stencil also from Tim Holtz…

While it was drying I added some Rub On’s from Tim Holtz on the pattern paper and some Tissue Tape at the top of the pattern paper, adhering it further with the Tiny Attacher..

Once the paste was dry, I added my stickers and flair and then stamped a sentiment onto some Sno Cone card stock, the sentiment is a MFT one called Essential Sentiments..

The card was complete in no time and was fun to use older product up and use some techniques..

Most of the product is listed below in links provided at the bottom of this post..

Thanks for taking the time to swing past and say hi today!

Have a great day!

  1. Wow you must have had fun making this card. I also feel great fun doing vintage works. It makes me so relaxed as well. Reading your post I smiled big. Love your delicate, CAS design. Great inspiration!

  2. Love this card. I normally love all your cards, but this one is extra specially nice. Congratulations. Beautiful sunny day after a very very heavy frost just the day to sit inside and be creative until it warms up.

  3. Joy, it is obvious the fun you have had creating this special card for your special man! I love it, and intend to try something similar for a couple of upcoming birthdays! Thank you so much for the inspiration!
