So today brings us to Day 3 of the MFT July Release Countdown and I hope you are all inspired and have your purses ready to purchase :)
Today I am sharing a sweet Pure Innoncence called Cupcake Day and so fitting with this month being the 10th Birthday for MFT…
I chose mine to be a slight interactive card…firstly with the card front, I masked off and area and blended colours of distress ink, Tumbled Glass and Peacock Feathers to create a background, splattering water over the top to give a more distress feel…I then took the little Cupcake Day girl and coloured her in with Copics as well as the balloon, with her dress I paper pieced her using some pattern paper from Subtle Plaids paper pad, stamping a sentiment off to one side and adding her to the card front along with some sequins..
Now to the interactive part, so I chose on the inside seeing as this was a birthday themed card, it would be fun to pop up another sentiment and balloon when the recipient opened the card it would be fun surprise..
So trimming down some more white card stock for the inside I used the Die-namics Pop-Up Elements Wide die, making sure to line up where I scored the card stock, I then stamped out a speech bubble from the Birthday Speech Bubbles set with Summer Splash ink and die cut out using the Die-namics Birthday Speech Bubbles, adding this and another balloon to the pop up…I also stamped another sentiment below that where you would write your own words and felt the card needed some little stars, so die cutting some Peach Bellini card stock using the Die-namics Happy Birthday Centerpieces..
That completed my card, it was really fun to play with these pop up dies, I have to say and if I am honest I was nervous when I first used them, but then when I realised how they actually worked, I was like, I am going to be using these a lot, I cannot wait to find a little time to just create a stack of interactive pop-up die cards..
So don’t forget to head over to the MFT blog to comment to win prizes..
Have a super fabulous day..
