MFT July Release Countdown Day 1

We are nearing closer to the day of the release for MFT, today marks day 1 of the countdown and I am sharing another shaker card with you all..

So we have those times in crafting when we create something that we feel is butt ugly, well for me this was one of those moments..but I have decided to share with you all to show, that I too have those times..

The stamp set and die I am working with today is a blast from the past, do you remember WTG stamp sets that MFT came out with and if you do you will remember if my memory is right, this particular one was the MFT logo for awhile, correct me if I am wrong :)

So this stamp set is called Time for Bubbly, so I decided to colour the image in and with over thinking the whole aspect of the card that I wanted to create, decided to try my hand at creating some French Parisian wallpaper, big mistake LOL I might as well laugh at myself, because I did try but the background to the image went horribly wrong, but as I said I am putting it out there…

For the background to the shaker I chose to stamp out little bottle images and bubbles all over a piece of Black Licorice card stock with white pigment ink and with the top of the card I used the Inside and Out Diagonal Stitched Rectangles to create a border around the main coloured image, I added some clear sequins and sealed up the Black Licorice and white card stock with foam tape, making sure of course to add the acetate on the inside, I then adhered the main image to the front panel and finished off by adding a stamped sentiment that I embossed with gold embossing powder..

So while I may not be overly excited about this card, I do hope that someone out there finds a little inspiration out of what I created for you today..

Don’t forget to head over to the MFT blog for commenting and see loads more inspiration for this month’s 10th Birthday for MFT..

I have really enjoyed looking at your cards. I am a long time absent person from MFT and I’ve seen your stuff recently and always love what you do. Thank you for sharing your work and the time you put into making it the best you can.ReplyCancel

Great card!!! Love that you made it a shaker! Oh, how I loved the Who’s That Girl? stamps!!! That was how I found MFT to begin with!!! I’m telling anyone who will listen that I’m hoping and praying there will be more sets after this one!ReplyCancel

  • So much depth and dimension in your amazing coloring work, love it!ReplyCancel

I don’t think it was a mistake! It turned out awesome to me, I love the colors you choose and it’s a shaker who doesn’t love shakersReplyCancel

Joy–I think we can all be overly critical of our work. It’s too much of a “close eye.” Stepping back and looking at it later shows us that it’s not as flawed as we think.

I really think it’s pretty. And I think it looks absolutely wonderful! The shaker elements add a great touch. It’s a great stamp set. You are inspiring.

And, I do believe you are correct about the old logo for MFT.ReplyCancel

To be honest, I can’t really see what is wrong with that wallpaper. In my humble opinion it is pretty much ok with that image.
But we all have times where we think what we just did was… well…. just for the bin. Next time we look at it then it is not too bad… and after that it looks quite nice actually.

Your cards are always very pretty, I like your style. So keep on going :-)
